Who can reach out?

Pastors, associate pastors, ministry workers, church staff, missionaries, and their spouses and immediate family members are all welcome to write to us.

Do I need to be struggling to reach out?

Accepted Answer

No. Counselling is useful in every season — to think clearly, to rest well, to strengthen relationships, or to grow in self-understanding. Many people we speak with are doing well and want to keep doing well.

Will my church know?

Enquiries are handled confidentially and in accordance with our Privacy & Data Protection Notice and applicable legal and safety obligations. We do not tell your church, board, employer, or family that you have been in touch.

Can my spouse or family member reach out?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Ministry is carried by families too. Spouses and immediate family members may write to us on their own.

Question 5

Can I choose my own counsellor?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer introductions and options, and the choice is yours. Fit matters, and you are free to continue looking if a referral is not the right one.

What kind of care is available?

Accepted Answer

Pastoral care, Christian counselling, clinical psychotherapy, marriage and family therapy, and specialist mental health support. We help you think through which would fit best.

What funding may be available?

Accepted Answer

Many counsellors and community organisations offer subsidised rates for pastors and ministry workers, and some denominations and networks hold care funds. Where more is needed, the Initiative may be able to contribute, subject to eligibility and available funds.

What happens after I write in?

There is no form to fill in. Write to hello@danieljoy.org in your own words. We reply privately and arrange a first conversation to consider what kind of support would fit.

What if I need urgent support?

The Daniel & Joy Initiative is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent mental health support, please contact local emergency services or a crisis helpline.
